SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Instrumentation Tech who provides maintenance functions for non-clinical and scientific instrumentation, and to the users of this instrumentation. Under moderate supervision, assists with the installing, maintaining and repair of all types of patient related equipment, to include beds and wheelchairs.

II. JOB REQUIREMENTS

A. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Work requires a high school level of educational development and two years of previous experience.

2. Maryland Class C Driver’s License required.

3. Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.

4. Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions. Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions, or requests for information. Work occasionally requires contact with patients and/or visitors, which involves courtesy.

B. Required Physical, Mental, and Visual Abilities

1. Lifting and/or carrying objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

2. Pushing and/or pulling non-motorized equipment (e.g., stretchers, supply carts, mops) weighing over 50 pounds.

3. Climbing - ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, or ramps.

4. Stooping and bending.

5. Reaching and grasping objects.

6. Manipulating and operating power tools or machinery.

7. Walking and/or standing for extended periods of time.

C. Working Conditions

Work is generally performed in an office or clinical environment in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant or hazardous working conditions.
