Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift; 8:00am - 4:30pm

On-call / weekend work required


Position Summary:

Position reports to the Sr. Director, Supply Chain and is responsible for managing towline operations and assigned staff. Develops materials and provides training as necessary to ensure that towline operates and is used in a safe, efficient and orderly manner. Oversees towline maintenance and repair activities. Responsible for coordinating the use of the towline system with Linen, Food Service, EVS, Mail and Materials Management departments and ensuring that the hospital maximizes benefits from the use of the towline system.


Requires a high level of educational development and a professional level of business management and computer systems knowledge as generally acquired upon the completion of a Bachelor's program in a directly related discipline or related work experience.

Work Experience:

Work requires a complete, in-depth and operational understanding of materials handling systems generally acquired in 3 to 5 years related experience. Electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair experience preferred. Two years management experience preferred

Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of computer controlled material handling systems. Knowledge of safety regulations pertaining to the operation and use of complex material handling equipment. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical and mechanical trades.

Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with various department manager/representatives to identify issues and resolve problems. Ability to analyze and draw conclusions from towline operating data. Able to develop and implement performance improvement plans derived from analysis of towline operations. Ability to prepare and conduct effective training classes for towline users. Skills related to the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical system equipment and components. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
