Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks -- an assisted living residence -- a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center.
We are seeking a talented nurse manager to oversee the oncology/infusion team. The cancer specialists at Sibley Memorial Hospital provide surgical, radiation and medical oncology services in Washington, D.C. metro area. As part of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients are able to receive the world renown treatments, including clinical trials and immunotherapy, of Johns Hopkins Medicine without leaving the region.
The Nurse Manager is accountable for assessing, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care in his/her area of responsibility. The Manager assures adherence to Sibley Memorial Hospital policies and procedures and supports and fosters the Sibley Memorial Hospital mission and vision. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and the processes that lead to continuous performance improvement. His/Her role includes clinical practice, staff development and continuing education, management and leadership, consultation and support. The manager works with members of administration, physicians and other members of the multi-disciplinary staff to assure that lines of communication are open and processes for quality patient care and problem resolution are in place.
The Infusion Center has 37 chairs and handles a full range of oncologic diagnoses including heme-onc, lung, gyn, breast, GU, GI, sarcoma, melanoma, head and neck. We have an engaged nursing team with access to state of the art technology and equipment. We provide our patients with the best and most cutting edge treatment options for cancer close to home on a beautiful campus with a community feel.
Who Should Apply:
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in hospital nursing with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Beginning level management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of leadership principles and demonstrated skills in area of practice.
- Current CPR Certification required.
