Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

Location: Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Full Time/Evenings
Weekend Rotations Required-Every other weekend
***Will Consider Medical Lab Assistant I or II***
Position Summary:
- Accepts blood and miscellaneous specimens received from internal and external customers.
- Verifies information provided on specimen with order requisition; assuring sufficient quantity and type.
- Centrifuges and distributes blood specimens to appropriate section.
- Orders and prepares specimens for reference laboratory pickup.
- Answers main laboratory telephone, transferring calls as requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
- Greater than 2 years of experience in Laboratory specimen processing.

Salary Range: Minimum $19.56/hour - Maximum $32.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
