The Johns Hopkins Health System’s Office of Nursing Professional Practice is looking for a Pediatric Nurse Educator to join their amazing team!
The Nursing Practice and Professional Development Specialist (NPPDS) is an RN who influences the professional role competence and professional growth of nurses in a variety of settings. The NPPDS is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs and activities for nursing staff using nursing, adult learning and other theories as appropriate. As an educational advisor and learning facilitator to other nursing professional practice program leaders and staff, the NPPDS serves as a leader, innovator, and change agent in the pursuit of improved nursing practice and professional development.
Shift: Full-time, 40-hours/week
Minimum requirements:
Education:
Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing, required. Individual(s) who have matriculated in an appropriate master’s program may be considered. Coursework in curriculum development, evaluation, or adult education, preferred.
Required Licensure Certification, etc.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse at time of hire
• Certification in area of specialty preferred.
The ideal candidate will have:
• At least a year as an inpatient nurse educator w/five years of clinical bedside nursing experience preferred.
• Highly developed ability to conduct environmental and nursing practice assessments to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing education/curriculum plans.
• Expert-level skills to champion scientific inquiry and advocate for clinical specialty education and professional development needs.
Salary Range: Minimum 46.57/hour - Maximum 72.18/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
