The Johns Hopkins Hospital Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC) Adult Nurse Practitioner - Liver Transplant Team will provide care for renal transplant patients on the inpatient Comprehensive Transplant Unit (CTU). The CTU is located on Zayed 9 West and is a 32 bed adolescent/adult surgical unit. The unit offers 3 levels of care: floor, telemetry, and intermediate levels of care. Care and services provided: post-operative abdominal organ (kidney, liver, and pancreas) transplant recipients; as well as medical management of complications secondary to transplantation. This unit is the designated step down for the Composite Tissue Allotransplantation (hand & face) recipients.
The Nurse Practitioner practices within the guidelines of the unit department, and institution and in accordance with the Nurse Practitioner- Physician Written Agreement required and approved by the State of Maryland. You will function in a Nurse Practitioner Associate role until credentialed by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board and staff privileges are granted.
Shifts: 13.5 hour shifts, working 3 days; some weekends and holidays
- MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program required.
- Active Maryland or Compact RN and CRNP license are required
- Current certifications as an Adult Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland or letter from MBON approving practice as a Nurse Practitioner Graduate while awaiting completing of JHH affiliate credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner.
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
- Requires 3 years of related RN work experience; recent experience with transplants highly preferred
- No NP work experience required
