The Johns Hopkins Hospital Neuro / Ortho / Spine and Trauma /Transplant OR has 14 adult operating rooms. Nurses scrub and circulate. Primary surgical services include: trauma, abdominal and allograft transplantation (kidney, liver, pancreas, hand) neurosurgical, orthopedic and ortho-spine patients. The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a Level 1 Regional Trauma Center.

The Assistant Nurse Manager manages the daily operations of the nursing unit, such as staffing, personnel management, environmental monitoring, performance improvement and risk management. Communicates regularly with the Nurse Manager so that the Nurse Manager can be aware of trends for longer term problem solving. Opportunity to mentor and manage others to promote quality, safety, and excellence in clinical care environment.

Shifts: 8 hour shifts Mondays-Fridays

Qualifications:

  • BSN from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • Requires 5 years of experience as registered nurse (within the specialty preferred), including 3 years with leadership and/or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead others, communicate effectively, problem solve, motivate others, promote cost-effective use of resources, and apply principles of evidence-based practice.
