Biomed Technician is responsible for maintaining equipment under the scope of the clinical engineering program. Biomed Technicians respond to service calls, perform preventative maintenance and complete proper documentation of activities to ensure continuous operation and safety of medical equipment. Biomed Technicians promote a culture of patient and staff safety as related to medical equipment and practices in support of hospital and department mission.
Work Hours: M-F 7:30a-4p
Location: St. Petersburg, FL
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Technology or Electronic Technology, or equivalent (i.e., U.S. Military Biomedical Equipment Technician, technical school training certification)
- 1 year experience in repairing and maintaining sophisticated electronic equipment, including medical electronic equipment, in accordance with Federal, State and local codes
- Familiar with Joint Commission requirements and National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in regards to medical equipment maintenance
