Spiritual Care & Chaplancy (Bayview Campus)

Grade: XR

Job Duties: This position offers a year-long, experiential program at JHH that allows a CPE resident to complete three consecutive units of CPE. The CPE resident will provide spiritual care to patients, families and hospital employees in accordance with the philosophy, mission statement and objectives of the hospital.

Residency will start in August/September

Requires professional level of knowledge in pastoral care as acquired by a Bachelor of Divinity degree from a theological seminary accredited by the Association of Theological Schools, or equivalent level of education and experience (a Masters level theological degree is preferred).

Requires level of proficiency in spiritual care generally acquired through one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent

Prior experience in pastoral ministry in a congregational or clinical setting is preferred as well as good standing in a local or recent faith group.

Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed; There is little exposure to hazardous working conditions; Work areas may be noisy and crowded; Works in area that may require contact with aggressive and/or combative patients; Works in normal office environment where there is little discomfort to due to the extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like; Works in patient care areas where there are no physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, temperature and the like
