The Clinical Coordinator is a registered nurse with demonstrated clinical and management skills who is accountable and responsible for maintaining the standards of care, coordinating operations, and supervising personnel. Another important function is the ability to work in a collaborative manner with the providers, shift directors and admission resource managers to facilitate timely patient care considering resources, patient care needs, and quality, safe care. Additional responsibilities include: ensuring process improvement and service excellence improvement initiatives are followed, facilitating unit throughput on given shift to improve patient's discharge time and LOS (length of stay), assessing and coordinating patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team, and ensuring early discharges (by 2pm) and patient flow on the Nursing Unit assigned through implementation of the hospital's lean initiatives.
