Job Duties: Required Responsible for performing many patient-oriented tasks such as interviewing patients, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering laboratory tests, making tentative diagnosis, and prescribing appropriate treatments. Responsible for overall management of the non-attending staff. Creation of staff schedule. Coordination of resident schedules. Staff Performance evaluations. Recruitment and hiring of PA/NP staff. In conjunction with Chair and Supervising Physician, evaluates and makes recommendations regarding staff requests for promotion. Member of ED Executive Committee. Works in conjunction with PA Residency leadership in an effort to maximize learning and training opportunities.
Full Time (40 Hours)
Day 12 hour shifts
Education/Experience: Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion a Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant or of Nurse Practitioner Program or closely related field, as well as minimum of two years of department specific NP or PA experience. A Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or a closely related field and at least two years of supervisory/management experience is preferred.
License/Certification: Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Valid AHA Healthcare Provider CPR card.
