Grand Oaks is a beautiful Assisted Living community nestled in the tree-lined streets of Northwest Washington, D.C. on the campus of Sibley Memorial Hospital. The building is a Georgian style residence with spacious apartments and variety of services to help every resident from independent living through memory care for those living with memory disorders and Alzheimer’s disease. The Cook is responsible for all food preparation so that food meets and/or exceeds quality, quantity, and service schedule requirements and hospitality service standards for the community. Responsible to effectively manage all food production in the absence of the Executive Chef or Dining Service Director.

Responsible for handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and compiles with all federal, state, and local regulatory procedures regarding food production.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.High school diploma/GED accepted.
2.One year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets.
3.Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.

Maintains a current ServSafe(R) certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.

Hours per week: 40 hours per week

Shift: 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Work Location: Washington, D.C.
