Location: Howard County Hospital is hiring for a CT Scan Technologist in the Cath Lab Department.

Schedule: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Requirements

The CT Scan Technologist is under the limited direction of the radiologist, general supervision of the administrative director, and the direct supervision of the CT Manager, perform professional duties involved in obtaining the proper computer tomography images. The job duties are to provide care activities in the presence of the patient and can involve invasive biopsy procedures. Work related information. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing wit h others. 

  • Employee must demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to age of the patients served on his/her unit. 
  • Transfer and position patients on the gantry table. 
  • Applies proper immobilization devices to insure consistent alignment of patients.
  • Selects the correct computer mode of operation. 
  • Follows protocol directions in performing computer tomography images. 
  • Administer I.V contrast media per department policy.
  • Assisting in performing first aid when necessary. 
  • Makes adjustments in the imaging console and records reconstructed images. 
  • Accurately selecting, inputting, documenting, and examining all patient data. 
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work area. 
  • Provides instruction/ educational training and guidance to Radiology. 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program with advanced certification in CT. 
  • One year of CT experience preferred. 
  • Current radiologic technologist licenses in state of Maryland. 
  • Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). 
  • Advanced CT certified is preferred. 
  • Current CPR certification. 
  • IV certification by HCGH within ninety (90) days of hire date.
