The CT Technologist operates all CT Scanners located in the main Imaging Department for the purpose of performing diagnostic exams according to physician orders. Insures the efficient flow of patients to maximize throughput. Ensures complete and accurate data entry in EPIC and the PACS system.

Location: Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital in Baltimore, MD is hiring for CT Technicians.

Schedule:

  • FullTime Night Shift (Weekend Required).
  • 11:00PM -7:30AM. 

Requirements

The CT Tech is responsible for successful scanning and assistance of procedures on patients who are extremely ill or injured. 

  • Counsels patients on the radiographic procedures to be performed.
  • Assists physician with biopsies and drainage.
  • Secures patient consent for the performance of intravenous injections.
  • Positions patients on equipment. Operates scanner and related equipment in the examination of patients
  • Must be able to work independently and scan following Departmental Policy Manual.
  • Monitors patient during examination. Notifies attending physician of changes.
  • Prepares and organizes equipment necessary for CT scan.
  • Schedules patients for radiology procedure to be performed.
  • Ensures proper operation of equipment. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and drugs necessary for procedures conducted.
  • May provide guidance to Radiology Technologists, students and assistants as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program or closely related field.  
  • 6 Months of previous experience. 
  • Current RTR registration required. 
  • Current CPR certification.
