Johns Hopkins Community Physicians is looking for a Director, Education and Nursing. The Director, Education and Nursing reports to Sr. Director of Education. He/she is responsible for education and training in JHCP practices, including operations training, Epic education and education of clinical staff; also responsible for regulatory oversight of clinical and nursing staff. Maintains collaborative relationships with other leaders in JHCP and across Johns Hopkins Medicine. The Director, Education and Nursing will have the opportunity to direct development, implementation, and on-going management of education & training initiatives for nursing, clinical and non-clinical staff in JHCP and in additional offices supported through the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians and other Johns Hopkins Medicine entities, with direct quality, safety, and education oversight of more than 70 RNs and 350 CMAs in JHCP and shared suites within Johns Hopkins Medicine. Directs education and training initiatives supporting practice operations, with training oversight for more than 350 non-clinical support staff.

Requirements:

  • Work requires a Master’s degree in nursing management, education or related.
  • RN licensure in Maryland; eligible for licensure in JHCP practice areas. Certifications in Patient Safety preferred.

  • CPR and others as required to administer and facilitate selected training programs and assessment instruments.

  • Work requires eight (8) to ten (10) years of demonstrated performance and/or consulting experience to include but not limited to clinical training, needs assessment and analysis, training design/development and delivery, group process and other interventions. At least four (4) years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment and educational program management. Knowledge of quality outcomes and value based care. Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in the ambulatory care setting. Knowledge of clinical nursing care in a range of ambulatory settings and specialties. Work requires the ability to work in a rapidly changing healthcare environment while considering new and untested approaches to training assessments, evaluations and delivery.
