Johns Hopkins HealthCare has created an operating division entitled Johns Hopkins HealthCare Solutions (“Solutions) seeking to redefine healthcare delivery by developing and disseminating innovative knowledge-based products and services targeted at improving health of populations. Solutions will provide a platform to manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships, relationships and services enabling JHHC to leverage, commercialize and expand our human and intellectual assets and ideas and explore opportunities to generate new revenue and funding streams with external partners. Further, Solutions will seek to more effectively leverage key strategic partnerships and external relationships maximizing the benefit and impact for JHM and our faculty. Reporting to the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for directing and growing at least one of JHHC’s lines of business.

  • Develops / assists with development of comprehensive program/project action plan for identified opportunity to assist with growth and program development within an existing project or program.
  • Implements / assists with implementation of project action plan.
  • Evaluates project outcomes.
  • Leads, facilitates, or supports meetings and committees as appropriate.
  • Serves as the key interface between external clients and JHHC/JHM, effectively working to identify and meet the needs of the clients while continually addressing the requirements needs and protections for Johns Hopkins Medicine.
  • Provides project management support to all customers with whom he/she works.
  • Assumes a role as a team member, technical resource and process facilitator on cross-entity performance improvement and project teams.
  • Communicates results of projects in written and/or verbal presentation.
  • Develops presentations.


  1. Education:

Bachelor’s degree required (post-graduate degree preferred), with a concentration in business, management or relatable field.

B. Knowledge:

Knowledge of organizational structure and development, organizational communications, project management, budget management, and business/strategic planning.

Knowledge of current issues and trends in health care, health care policies, clinical and research practices.

Knowledge of how hospitals and integrated health systems function (Familiarity with JHM organizational structure preferred.)

Knowledge and experience related to planning and implementation of medium and large scale strategic initiatives.

Knowledge and successful experience working with HR, general counsel, and brand managers/teams.

Knowledge and experience in hiring and working with vendors.

Working knowledge of contract law and the application of legal agreements as they relate to financial, business and operational terms.

C. Skills:

High level of interpersonal skill, strong written and oral communication necessary to interface with faculty, senior administrative and clinical leadership, administrators and external clients.

Ability to compile, write and present high-quality financial and program presentations and reports.

High level of skills related to meeting management, leadership, organization, and time management.

High level of analytical ability necessary to identify and illustrate relationships among activities, recommend courses of action based on making choices between alternative and design recommended. Strong attention to detail required.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior and executive leadership within aggressive time frames; manage multiple projects simultaneously.

E. Work Experience:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in health care-related business, working effectively with business, legal, brand, faculty and clinician colleagues, preferably in an academic medical center or major corporate institution.
