Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for budgeting, reporting and project management for all facilities and vendor integration initiatives. This position will assemble and coordinate project staff, identify stakeholders, define tasks and manage project resources to meet delivery dates. Project responsibility includes but is not limited to compliance regulations, financial assessments, standard operating procedures and systems implementation. The incumbent will work closely with his/her manager and senior management to analyze and implement opportunities for improvements. This will require developing an in depth knowledge of departmental operations and effective working relationships with upper management. The Project Manager must establish clear project goals, produce detailed project schedules, determine budgets, create financial plans, define expectations and targets, and manage timelines, costs, and risks. Incumbent will make suggestions and implement modifications to scope, deliverables and timelines as necessary. They will also direct the project team, prepare and present project status presentations, status reports, charters, statements of work and project plans to stakeholders and Senior Management.

Critical to this position, incumbent must be able to review and make recommendations on mandated HIPAA and CMS type regulations. Incumbent must have knowledge of financial concepts, and high level of standard MS Office Suites. He or She will be expected to analyze processes to provide continuous improvement and identify business opportunities. They must also interpret a variety of financial and demographic data to provide project-oriented analyses. Analyses will be performed to diagnose reasons for unexpected trends and to propose alternative solutions. This position plays a key role in developing and implementing departmental objectives and activities in support of functional business unit decision-making. This includes long-range/business planning processes and guidelines, as well as, program/product development analysis.

The Project Manager works as a team member and positively accepts change throughout the Health System while establishing relationships at all facilities and be familiar with each institution’s computer environment and payer contracts as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, accounting, finance or related field is required


  • Requires a comprehensive understanding of project management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels including senior management throughout the organization
  • Proficient to advance knowledge of healthcare information databases preferred
  • Requires basic knowledge of corporate finance as it relates to healthcare which may include the following: budget processes, financial analysis for health care programs and projects, hospital and physician billing procedures and systems, cost accounting principles, monthly financial reporting, management and development of staff
  • Working knowledge of project methodologies preferred


  • Evaluate and manage financial models and applications including internal controls and staffing models
  • Management and development of all finance staff within the assigned functional area(s)
  • Oversee development of budgets, reconciliation of billing and collection activity
  • Manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet several concurrent deadlines
  • Ability to access and manipulate data and produce meaningful and useful project management reporting for senior management
  • Ability to suggest creative ideas that generate revenue and/or produce cost savings
  • Must be able to present, format complex data, and technical information to end users with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Must also be able to make detailed recommendations for further data analysis

Required Licensure Certification, etc.

  • PMP preferred
  • CPA preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Requires high degree of knowledge of financial and accounting principles, operating expense budgeting and annual operating plan development as would be obtained from five to ten years of progressively responsible related experience. Requires experience in developing and presenting financial information to senior level audiences.
