The HIPAA Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for helping to assure compliance with the HIPAA privacy regulations and related Johns Hopkins HIPAA policies and procedures by conducting reviews and monitoring performance and activities throughout all Johns Hopkins "covered entities."
In-depth knowledge of spreadsheet, database, presentation, and word processing software. Audit experience helpful. Knowledge of Finance, Quality Management, Planning and Administrative theory, and Clinical background useful. Awareness of JHM organizational structure helpful. Customer Service Theory.
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
At least four years’ experience with management information systems or compliance data management or equivalent applicable experience.

Strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills, necessary to interface with various levels of management, faculty and staff. High level of organization and time management abilities. Analytical ability necessary to identify and illustrate relationships among activities, recommend courses of action based on making choices between alternative and design recommended. Ability to sit in a normal seated position for an extended period of time. Ability to see within normal parameters, hear within normal ranges and to move about. Ability to extend hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction and finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arms(s), for example, using a keyboard.
