POSITION SUMMARY:

This position plays a critical role in hospital safety by cleaning the facilities to hospital standards. The EVS Technician I aids in the prevention of communicable disease by thoroughly disinfecting public areas and private rooms. Cleans office and administrative areas in hospital as well as outpatient care centers, restrooms, clinical equipment, floors and hallways. May also be responsible for linen stocking and delivery.

  8. Observes safety precautions at all times, uses safety signs (i.e. “wet floor”)
  9. Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA regulations and local requirements
  10. Reports safety hazards as appropriate
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial, and legal information

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED Preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand the English language

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • __X__ Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Generally in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and events

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, bodily fluids, disturbing sights and images
