The Lactation Consultant provides quality care related to lactation and the use of human milk to our patients and mothers using the principles of family-centered care. Maintains a collaborative, supportive relationship with the health care team to advise on evidenced based practice related to lactation. Along with other members of a care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high standards of care provided by JHACH.
Work Hours: Day Shift 9:00am-5:30pm/ roatating weekends/ Full-time
Work Location: Saint Petersburg, FL
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health related field
- Recognized Health Professional (Nurse, Dietitian/Nutritionist, Speech Therapist)
- Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) through International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners or Certified Lactation Counselor/Certified Lactation Educator with eligibility to take exam for IBCLC within one year of hire
- 1 year experience in clinical setting
