This position requires the incumbent to be an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. The incumbent is responsible for providing lactation management services to expectant and breastfeeding families both in the immediate hospital and outpatient setting. The incumbent will provide educational in-services for staff members and instruction for pregnant and new families to insure consistent, accurate, quality knowledge based breastfeeding information

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. Registered Nurse, preferred (current RN District of Columbia license required)
  2. Certified by the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants, required.
  3. Minimum of three years of experience in counseling breastfeeding mothers, preferred

Schedule:

PRN- rotating 12 hr shifts
