Candidate qualifications for a Lead Clinical Nurse position:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of acute care RN work experience.
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree, in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
- An active Maryland State or Compact RN license is required
- BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
The Lead Clinical Nurse is responsible for:
- Coordinating the total scope of care for a group of patients throughout their unit stay to achieve clinical, financial, and organizational outcomes.
- Providing evidence-based care based on the nursing process, policies, procedures, and protocols of the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
- Mentoring and managing others to promote quality, safety, and excellence in care.
- Working collaboratively with, and provides leadership for, a multidisciplinary health care team to optimize team performance.
- Promoting and identifying quality improvement initiatives (clinical, financial, operational) that are aligned with departmental and organizational safety and operational objectives.
- Identifying methods to promote the cost-effective use of resources.
- Completing all identified competencies and annual requirements for patient population, unit, department, and institution.
- Assuming unit management functions as identified by the Assistant Manager/Manager.
- Consistently demonstrates organization’s core values.
