Specific Duties: Under general supervision and in consultation with the Radiologist performs mammographic procedures of a routine and difficult nature. Participates in scheduling procedures for the Breast Imaging Center. Also trains and evaluates other technologist in performing mammographic procedures.
Full Time (40 hours/week)
9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Note: Hired candidate must be flexible as the position requires coverage for vacations and callouts as well as traveling between Bethesda and Columbia imaging sites. Staff shifts that will require coverage range from 7:00am-3:30pm to 9:00am-6:00pm. Some Saturday work from 8:00-4:30pm may also be required (generally OT).
Education: Work requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program.
Licensure: ARRT Mammography certified with current registration required. Radiography license by the Maryland Board of Physicians and CPR certification required.
Experience: 3 to 6 Months experience performing mammography Radiology procedures. Epic knowledge a plus! Analytical ability required to schedule patients with available mammography rooms; calculate and select proper technical factors to ensure proper machine function; determine appropriate patient positioning to achieve specialized examinations.
