The Manager of Central Transport supervises and coordinates the activities of workers concerned with transporting patients, equipment and laboratory specimens. Coordinates transport activities for all planned and unplanned transportation needs utilizing a wireless communication system. Communication is required internally outside of the immediate work group to receive and clarify assignments, prioritize assignments, resolve problems, collaborate on work procedures, provide timely information to customers and ensure that satisfaction with internal and external contacts is maintained. Contact with external customers generally requires verifying data or gathering information. Provides supervision and direction to the transporters. Serves as a resource for problem solving for the work group. Is accountable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for all operational issues related to his/her service area.
