Position Summary:

Reports to the ASC Administrator and is responsible for the materials and equipment management for the ASC Responsibilities include medical supply distribution, equipment distribution, inventory management, receiving management, decontamination activities, customer service, emergency carts, and staff training. Will cross train to the CSP manager role to ensure adequate coverage in the absence of the CSP manager and work closely with department managers to meet the supply chain needs of the ASC. Provides reporting and analysis of key dashboard metrics related to core materials management business, service excellence and productivity. Also, recommends the execution of productivity and customer service improvement through work flow changes. Set goals, motivates and aligns organization, inspires staff and generates commitment to program and project goals.

  1. Education:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in management required or related (i.e. logistics, supply chain management, or healthcare preferred). Experience above and beyond the work experience competency may be substituted on a 2 years of experience for 1 year of education basis (8 years).

B. Knowledge:

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of supply chain and logistics, receiving, materials management and human resource management activities. Knowledge with Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS) and various information technology support systems that deals with medical supplies and equipment (SAP, Complex knowledge of progressive discipline and human resource management. Clinical understanding of decontamination of equipment and sterile processing policies and procedures. Work requires a comprehensive understanding of all clinical areas.

C. Skills:

Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate with staff and customers.

Must have strong analytical ability to trouble shoot computer systems, generate and interpret reports, manipulate / validate data and problem solve. Be able to analyze work flow processes and functional departmental systems design making recommendations for improvement and executing necessary changes. Have excellent customer service skills with an understanding and focus on proactive rather than reactive responses.

D. Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:

CMRP or CPM certification is preferred.

E. Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ of supply chain experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred. Demonstrated supply chain knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred.
