Reports to JH Imaging Site Manager and MRI Lead Technologist. Performs Diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging of organs, organ systems and blood flow studies. Provides radiologists with images necessary to obtain diagnostic results so that a comprehensive diagnostic report is available to referring physician. Orients physicians, residents, staff and student technologist in objectives and applications of magnetic resonance imaging and safety.
Full-Time, 40 hours/week
Rotation Shift, 6:00 am - 10:30 pm
Position is Monday through Friday, however, hired candidate must also be available to help with 6:00am-2:30pm or 9:30am-6:00pm coverage as needed.
Work Location: JH Imaging - Bethesda
Requires completion of an AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology or equivalent, which normally is acquired in a two-year college or technical school program. Prefer one year experience in an imaging modality.
Prefer magnetic resonance training program experience with clinical internship or one year of clinical imaging experience. Also, high levels of analytical skills are required to perform appropriate scans based on the patients' history and protocol. Work requires a high level of interpersonal skills for instructing and orientating patients, physicians medical staff, and students.
ARRT certified with current registration required. CPR certification required within three months of employment. Preferred post-primary ARRT Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification
Required to work in all ACR MRI zones and exposed to strong magnetic field for extended periods. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, radiation, magnetic field, and pharmacological agents with likelihood of harm if established health precautions are not followed. Work may require the use of lab coats, uniforms and/or protective clothing including gowns, gloves, masks and eye gear. Position requires the ability to assist the patient on and off the examination table and also to assist the patient into proper positioning to obtain diagnostic results. The position will require moving and lifting of supplies and equipment as needed.
