Nelson 4 is a 23-bed medical unit which primarily cares for infectious disease, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, and lung transplant patients. There is a comprehensive & collaborative team of providers, patient care coordinators, nurses, social workers, customer service representatives, & unit associates. The unit also has the opportunity to enjoy great relations with support disciplines and departments including home health, pharmacy, nutrition, transport, and environmental care. There is a nurturing environment for new staff with specialized education for HIV and pulmonary diseases

The Nurse Manager provides leadership to achieve unit, departmental, and institutional objectives within a rapidly changing environment, and promotes innovation and excellence in clinical, service, and team performance.

Shifts: 8 hour shifts Mondays-Fridays


  • MSN from an accredited nursing program required. Those without the required degree may be considered provided they will be enrolled in an accredited MSN program within 12 months of hire.
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • Requires 5 years of experience as registered nurse (within the specialty preferred), including 3-5 years with leadership and/or management responsibilities.
  • Ability to lead others, problem-solve, analyze and interpret data, adapt to rapidly changing priorities and environment, and create a climate that fosters compassionate care, innovation, cooperation, collaboration, and teamwork.
