The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered professional nurse prepared with a master’s degree in nursing and nationally certified at the highest level of nursing specialty practice in their specialty area.

The CNS demonstrates his/her experience and expertise in OR, PACU & ASU nursing. The CNS works as a leader, innovator, outcomes facilitator and change agent in the pursuit of improved nursing practice and excellence in patient care. The CNS scope of practice includes clinical practice, education, consultation, research and administration.

MSN in Nursing or Nursing Education

Two or more years of experience in OR, PACU & ASU
OR experience is a must.

RN license required
Certified in area of specialty required

CPR Required AHA Healthcare Provider

Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift


Occasional weekend and off shift coverage is required to provide education to all staff on all shifts

Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed
