The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a registered professional nurse prepared with a master’s degree in nursing and nationally certified at the highest level of nursing specialty practice in their specialty area.
The CNS demonstrates his/her experience and expertise in Surgical/Orthopeadic & Neuroscience nursing. The CNS works as a leader, innovator, outcomes facilitator and change agent in the pursuit of improved nursing practice and excellence in patient care. The CNS scope of practice includes clinical practice, education, consultation, research and administration.

Master's degree in nursing education or as Clinical Nurse Specialist
Two or more years of RN experience in related specialty setting is a must, along with at least two years education related experience/responsibilities. Five or more years experience strongly preferred.
Current state licensure as Registered Nurse required
Certified in area of specialty required
CPR Required AHA Healthcare Provider
Full Time (40 hours)
Occasional weeknd and off shift coverage required to ensure education of staff on all shifts
Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed
