This Nursing Practice Specialist (NPS) position will be responsible to coordinate Crisis Prevention classes and support the CNS's in staff specific skill based training. He/she will also be involved in teaching on behavioral health, substance use disorders, falls, and restraints as part of nursing orientation or PCT classes. This position will also include related committee involvement, NDNQI falls data reporting, and lead the nursing policy development & revision process. This is an ideal position for someone with expertise in behavioral health and someone who has a passion for patient & staff safety.

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

Master's degree in nursing a must; nursing education focus preferred

Five years as an RN required. Expertise in behavioral health strongly preferred. At least two years of hospital related nursing education experience required.

Current state licensure as Registered Nurse required.

CPR Required AHA Healthcare Provider

Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed; Works in normal office environment where there is little discomfort to due to the extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like
