Under direct supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, call center technicians are responsible for receiving inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc) from patients, providers and insurance companies. These technicians will be responsible for interviewing callers to obtain a full understanding of what information is being requested, coordinating over the phone pharmacy tasks ranging from processing a prescription medication to updating patients' insurance and demographics, while maintaining high level customer service on every call. In the absence of the call center supervisor, the technician will report directly to the Patient Access Manager or the pharmacist in charge.

Requirements

Licensure

  • Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required.

Experience

  • 6 months pharmacy technician experience or minimum 2nd year pharmacy student.
  • Two (2) years retail/inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
