The Patient Safety Specialist collaborates across departments and throughout the JHHS to assess and promote a just culture of patient safety. The Patient Specialist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and/ or evaluating patient safety principles and practices throughout the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The Patient Safety Specialist must develop strong, professional relationships with all members of the interdisciplinary care team and collaborate with leadership and staff to facilitate the successful integration of patient safety principles into current and future practice.

Work Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, East Baltimore Campus, Baltimore, MD 21287
Education:
Requires Master’s degree in clinical profession of relevance. Preferred Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher. Trained in design-thinking, Human Factors and CUSP methodologies. Higher degree, if required by professional licensing board in clinical profession.
Licensure/Certifications:
State board licensure in profession of relevance. Professional certification in clinical area of assignment preferred.
Work Experience:
At least Five (5) years of clinical experience; with a minimum of Two (2) years of leadership participation in CUSP methodologies, and/or program/project management. Experience in performance improvement and/or team facilitation preferred. Experience in dealing with health care operations preferred
