POSITION SUMMARY:

Patient Transporter is a non–licensed staff member who transports patients throughout the hospital. Maintains equipment (wheelchairs, beds and wagons). Qualified to perform CPR in an emergency situation. Works independently in a fast paced environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Adheres to image specific policies in regards to patient safety which are established by the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, regulatory, and accreditation governing bodies.

2. Maintains required levels of education that pertains to clinical, family, and patient centered care

3. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills

4. Possesses excellent communication skills

5. Willingness to embrace diversity and work well with others

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Required BLS (Basic Life Support), AHA

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • __X__ Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of Fifty (50) pounds without assistance
  • __X__ Category 1: Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to move throughout the hospital campus on a daily basis
