Reporting to the Clinical Applications Manager, the Clinical Applications Assistant assists with maintaining Outpatient Pharmacy computer systems for outpatient pharmacy services provided by outpatient pharmacy staff. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, employee training, report generation and analysis, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computerized outpatient pharmacy systems and working on special projects. The Clinical Applications Assistant also needs to be able to set priorities, work independently and perform technician duties as needed.

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalency

Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of pharmaceutical mathematics

Computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions

Knowledge of third party plans and how they are processed

Knowledge of drug names (generic and brand)

Knowledge and experience with the outpatient pharmacy computer systems and desktop solutions

Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:

MD State Board of Pharmacy Registration
