Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs a variety of clerical, technical, and professional support tasks designed to assist the Pharmacist in the formulation, preparation, dispensing and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies. Records and maintains information on various medications and procedures. Works with the pharmacist to assure that patients receive full benefit of medication therapy. Works collaboratively with other members of the health care team to promote wellness, maintain current health, or intervene in acute or chronic illness. Promotes the safe and effective use of medications under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent; currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Work Experience:
0 to 6 months of Pharmacy experience including Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) or Advance Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) experiential learning activities.
Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:
Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy. As required, registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of pharmacy work routines, procedures, materials, and/or equivalent is required
Analytical skills required to maintain records, measure drugs, and recognize common computer errors.
Ability to use computer keyboard for data access, manage printers and print jobs, use, maintain and make small repairs to a variety of automated devices.
