Job Duties: The Physician Assistant NICU is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to both well and ill patients/participants. The NP educates patients/participants and/or their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health and intervene in acute or chronic illness.

Our NICU is a 25-bed, Level III facility. We have a multi-disciplinary approach to direct patient care to a high-risk population including critically ill and/or extreme low birth weight neonates, use high frequency ventilation, iNO, and EEG as needed. The PA will attend high-risk deliveries (approx. 1,400 per year with 300 NICU admissions, and and average daily census of 15-18). There is no transport responsibility.

36 hours per week

Education: Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completeion of a Bachelor's degree in a Physician Assistant Program or closely related field.

Licensure: Maryland License as a Physician Assistant. Completion of a signed Physician Assisant job description as required and approved by the State of Maryland. Valid AHA Healthcare Provide CPR card is required.

Experience: Six months of related experience is required. Previous NICU experience is strongly preferred.
