Under the direction, supervision and responsibility of a physician, and in accordance with established policies evaluates patient’s health status through diagnostic procedures and tests. Provides therapeutic patient care under direction of a physician and in accordance with established protocols. The Oncology Physician Assistant (PA), in the Viragh Building, is responsible for the general care and urgent care needs of all the infusion and non-infusion patients in Viragh. This NP/PA provides support to stable and deteriorating patients; working with longitudinal providers to meet patients immediate care needs. This includes:
Full-time, 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday
Occasional regular rotation to a Saturday shift in Urgent Care - Weinberg Buillding
8, 10, 12 hour shifts to total 40 hours per week
8:00 am - 4:30 pm Provider Practice Hours
7:00 am - 7:30 pm - Rapid Response Team Hours
Will be part of NP/PA Oncology Urgent Care Team that will see patients in two Kimmel Cancer Center ambulatory buildings on the JHH CampusPOccasional rotation to a Saturday shift
Primary Work Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital - The Skip Viragh Building
Successful completion of an AMA Physician Assistant Program
Licensed by the MD Board of Physicians. Board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current CPR certification required. - If you order or refer items or services for Medicare beneficiaries and you do not have an enrollment record in the Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System(PECOS), you will need to submit an enrollment application to Medicare to be eligible for employment.
One year PA experience preferred. Zero to twelve months related experience.
Works in normal patiet care areas were there are few physial discomforts due to dust, dirt, noise and the like. Exposure to hazards due to infectious specimen and contagious diseases, but potential for harm or personal injury is limited when proper safety and health precautions are followed.
Pay Grade: CQ
