This outpatient position is under the supervision of the Director of the Community Psychiatry Program. The Psychiatric Therapist ll provides psychotherapy to adult patients both on an individual and group basis and, as a team member with a psychiatrist, is responsible for the coordination of patient care and treatment. Knowledge of the psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with major mental illness, acquired through education and experience providing psychotherapy in a clinical setting, is a requirement. Skills required include: the analytic ability to gather and interpret data in relation to the patient evaluation and ongoing treatment; clinical skills for psychotherapy; ability to develop and monitor treatment plans; excellent time-management and documentation skills; excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with patients, families, and mental health personnel.

Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hours

8:30 am- 5:00 pm

Education: Master's degree


Level I- Graduate level license

Level II- Licensure in accordance with discipline such as: Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Psychologist (PhD/Psy D).


Level I- 6 months to 1 year related experience-internship considered

Level II- Two to three years of related clinical experience- preferred

Working Condition:

Works in normal office environment where there is little discomfort to due to the extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like Works in patient care areas where there are no physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, temperature and the like
