GENERAL SUMMARY: The Radiation Oncology Nurse with a Pediatric Focus provides quality nursing care to the pediatric patients and their families in Radiation Oncology. The Radiation Oncology Nurse assesses, plans, implements, documents, and evaluates patient clinical and psychosocial needs and responses to therapeutic procedures. The Radiation Oncology Nurse provides education and psychosocial support to patients and families.
Minimum Education and Experience:
1. Registered Nurse licensed in the District of Columbia.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
3. Minimum of one year experience in Pediatric Radiation Oncology or one year experience in pediatric oncology or pediatrics.
4. Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse (CPHON®) within 18 months of hire or two exam attempts whichever comes first.
5. Current PALS certification preferred.
