TCAS Document Central duties. Gathers all pertinent preoperative information from patient, patient's medical legal guardian, patient's surgeon and/or primary physician to facilitate a safe and timely surgery to all patients through the pre-op phone call process. Interacts with patients the day of surgery. Communications and collaboration are required within and outside the work group to provide patient care and resolve mutual issues. Communication and collaboration with external contacts is for the provision of on-going service and handling of routine transactions, frequently detailed information. Responsible for ensuring that satisfaction and service to internal and external contacts is maintained. Coordinates with other disciplines (Surgeons, Anesthesia, Preop nurses, Surgical Posting staff, Health Information Management [HIM], etc.) for assistance as needed. Able to problem solve issues to create positive results. Gathers data and/or submits report for Performance improvement.

Graduate of an approved RN program. BSN preferred.
