<span style="margin: 0px; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">GENERAL SUMMARY<span style="margin: 0px; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;">:<span style="margin: 0px; font-family: "Arial",sans-serif;"> The Oncology Nurse Navigator functions as a member of the multidisciplinary team who has clinical nursing expertise in cancer. She/he is a clinical resource, advocate, and educator with the goal of helping patients overcome health care system barriers and facilitate timely access to treatment. She/he is responsible for ensuring all patients with a cancer diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services. She/he will coordinate patient care across the continuum from diagnosis through survivorship. She/he will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in cancer care management along with being a liaison within the facility and to community resources. She/he will provide expert nursing care, including direct clinical care, in addition to consultation, education, and research.
