A key member of the nursing leadership team and is responsible for assisting with implementing strategies within the clinical area of responsibility. Responsibility for all nursing related aspects of care delivered in the clinical areas of responsibility including financial management and oversight, clinical quality, engagement, nursing research, work force management and professional practice. In support of professional nursing practice the Director of Nursing provides leadership and creates a culture that supports the delivery of patient centered, specialized, evidence based nursing care across the continuum through an inter-professional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. This position contributes to the goals of Nursing and Patient Care Services by being accountable for the delivery of compassionate and safe care within the scope of practice as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing and JHACH policy. Through collaborative practice with all members of the care team, this role is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by JHACH. The professional practice of nursing at JHACH involves the promotion of a culture of innovation and a commitment to academic growth and professional development. The Director of Nursing also works closely with all members of the leadership team including other inter-professional care team members to ensure alignment with the clinical and academic mission of the organization. Work Hours: Full time, Days
Work Location: St. Petersburg, Florida
•Current Florida RN Licensure
•Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; a Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field is required within three years of being hired.
•Minimum of five years of progressive management experience
•Minimum of five years of experience in an academic medical center or hospital/clinic environment or a health care integrated delivery system, preferred
•Specialty certification required. Certified as a Nurse Executive by the American Nurse's Credentialing Center or American Organization of Nurse Executives preferred.
•Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and proficiency in presentation.
•Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required
