Reporting to the Manager Rx Reimbursement and Medication Access, the Retail Rx Specialist II works at an advanced level of proficiency to bill government payors, third-party, patients and Johns Hopkins Programs in an effective, efficient, accurate and timely manner to assure the greatest possible payment in the shortest amount of time for the outpatient pharmacies. Understands reimbursement policies of third party payers, specifically governmental payor guidelines. Works independently researching and solving complex billing and collection issues in a timely manner. Assertive and capable of identifying and resolving problems. Acts as a resource and helps train others. Must have strong customer service skills. Quality of work performed is consistent and can quantify results.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- College Preferred.
- Two (2) years of medical billing experience.
- Pharmacy experience preferred.
- Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required upon hire.
