The Emergency Department Social Worker will complete psychosocial assessments and intervention plans for patients in the adult ED who have been identified with psychosocial risk factors that may prevent a safe return to the community. These risk factors may include suspected abuse or neglect, trauma, interpersonal violence, behavioral health concerns, homelessness, and limited resources. They will be responsible for crisis intervention, brief counseling and referrals to appropriate community programs and agencies.
Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary for timely referrals and documentation in the medical record. Must have strong skills in crisis intervention, family systems work, conflict resolution and collaborative teamwork.
Casual (less than 20)
Day Shift Weekend Hours: Every other weekend. Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
Must possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work with at least 2 years of post-graduate work in a medical setting preferred. Minimum of LGSW, LCSW-C preferred.
Works in patient care areas where there are no physical discomforts due to dust, dirt, temperature and the like
