Under general supervision, performs a variety of complex analytical tasks in the areas of Hospital and departmental budget planning and evaluation. Participates in the development, implementation and/or maintenance of budgeting and financial reporting systems. Prepares and documents analyses and recommendations regarding budget variances, financial forecasting and modeling systems.
Full Time (40 hours), Day Shift
8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Work Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, East Baltimore Campus
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field required. MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience required in financial and administrative positions, in an academic or medical setting preferred. Grant and Contract experience preferred. Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and/or word processing required, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and SAP.
Requires comprehensive understanding of departmental procedures and systems as well as high levels of proficiency in finance, accounting, business administration or the equivalent as normally acquired during two to three years related experience.
Requires a relatively high level of analytical ability to gather and compile data and perform a variety of statistical analyses.
Substantial interpersonal skills are required to assist in conducting formal employee training programs and to regularly participate in discussions with hospital managers and administrators regarding unit financial performance up to 20% of work time.
Works in generally good working conditions where there is little discomfort due to extremes of heat, dust, noise, temperature and the like.
Work frequently produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue due to the need to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
