This position will be to help support the Cloud and Virtualization Services (CVS) team. This team is responsible for providing infrastructure to support the virtual server, virtual desktop, storage, data protection, and the public cloud needs for departments and projects throughout the Johns Hopkins Enterprise. The responsibilities listed below are typical examples of the work performed by this position. Not all duties assigned to this position are included, nor is it expected that everyone in this position will be assigned every job responsibility.
1. Provision new Virtual Servers
2. Provision new Storage, SAN and NAS
3. Manage Virtual Server Resources
4. Perform restores as needed for our users
5. Participate in Disaster Recovery testing
6. Provide technical troubleshooting support
7. Plan and implement infrastructure upgrades.
8. Manage and Deploy resources in Public Clouds including Azure, AWS, etc…
9. Help to automate tasks through scripting.
Some of the supporting infrastructure we use are VMWare, Hyper-V, CommVault, and Cisco UCS. A successful candidate should be familiar with some of these technologies. We are looking for someone who can help automate tasks through the use of powershell and PowerCLI.
