We also collaborate with doctors, nurses and specialists throughout Johns Hopkins Medicine to ensure continuity of your care.

The staff pharmacist interprets prescriptions and compounds and dispenses medications ordered by physicians or other authorized prescribers. The staff pharmacist is a medication expert and provides information to both patients and health care providers. The staff pharmacist also completes other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager. The staff pharmacist works under moderate supervision with appropriate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. The staff pharmacist reports directly to the pharmacy manager. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, the staff pharmacist reports to the assistant pharmacy manager or the pharmacist in charge. In the event the pharmacy manager is not available, the staff pharmacist may act as the pharmacist in charge. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Maryland
  • Certified by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy to provide vaccinations preferrably upon hire and required within six (6) months of hire
  • Active CPR certification
  • At least two years retail/outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in a Pharm.D. degree or B.S.
  • Residencey preferred
