The Surgical Assistant's primary responsibility is to assist the surgeon as first or second assistant in the Operating Room. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work related information. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others.

Work Location: Howard County General Hospital

Must be board certified (or eligible for certification) by National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) or the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA), or other acceptable Surgical Assistant Certification (e.g., NBSTSA), and maintain a minimum CME.
