Comprehensive Transplant

Grade: NE

Job Duties: Directly and indirectly supports the information system structure of the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC). Responsible for collecting, organizing, analyzing and reporting data which will further the mission of The Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center. Assists with CTC operational and administrative issues related to data including implementation and maintenance of the CTC information system application, integration of Institutional enterprise data systems, identification of new technologies to improve efficiency and workflow of transplant programs, staff information systems training, programmatic data reporting, statistical analysis, and on-going development and distribution of data-related policies and procedures. Assists with basic hardware problem solving and works with Decision Support Manager as the intermediary between JHMCIS and clinical staff. Ensures data integrity and is responsible for compliance and accurate reporting to UNOS, SEOPF, MARC, CTRD, ISHLT, Medicare and the State of Maryland. Personnel are HIPAA compliant and act within the policies and procedures of the CTC and JHH. Each position is directly related to and oversees a specific transplant organ group(s) and/or program. In addition to the general activities listed above, each team member is assigned specific (a) group(s) of tasks as described below. Each team member is cross trained for coverage.

Full time (40 hours)


Education: Requires knowledge about database applications, management, and maintenance, office management, and/or healthcare as normally acquired through the completion of two years of college in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare Management or related field or comparable experience.

Experience: Requires 2 to 3 years experience in database management procedures as normally acquired with general office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Secondary to the specific terminology, protocols and procedures of transplantation this position is not designed for entry level.
