Job Summary:

Provides a variety of unit operational support and activities to promote patient comfort and satisfaction. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrates reading ability of at least an 8th grade level in order to read and follow basic directions, and to read required labels, forms, requisitions, and patient rosters.
Demonstrates mathematical ability of at least a 6th grade level in order to add, subtract, understand, and convert standard measures

Licensure/Certifications:

None applicable.

Experience:

Six months of work experience in a health care environment preferred. At least 6 months continuous employment preferred.

Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of and familiarity with hospital equipment, supplies, and procedures

Ability to identify clinical and environmental emergency/urgent situations and to follow established procedures.
Highly effective interpersonal communication skills to interact with inter-professional staff, patients, families, visitors, and other hospital employees.
